Head feels like it's about to explode! What is it?

I've never had it before. It's so horrible.

I'm a chronic migraine sufferer (the type where the aura symptoms are that of a stroke), and this doesn't feel like a migraine.

It just feels like my brain is being inflated and is too big for my scull.

What can I do? I've taken headache medication and I've had it since last night but it just keeps getting more intense.

Viral meningitis here too with similar symptoms. Get to hospital and tell them you can’t sit up

Severely high blood pressure can make your head feel this way. Please get checked out ASAP! 🌷and please do let us know how you get on.

MrsAmaretto · 24/03/2019 23:25

Hope your okay. I had similar and it turned out it was sinus related! Absolutely terrifying

backmassageplease · 25/03/2019 03:17

Hello, thank you all Thanks

I'm in hospital at the moment with encephalitis. The consultant was extremely surprised and frank, saying he was surprised I'd made it so long without blacking out!

I have to say, I wouldn't have gone to hospital without your encouragement on here. I would've stupidly soldiered on until Monday, and seen a GP. I'm glad I didn't follow my own advice!

I knew something was very very wrong with that amount of pain. And the nausea made me feel like I'd been in a car crash combined with the pounding of my head.

Oh my goodness! Get well soon. I feel very relieved you listened to the people telling you to get to a doctor!!

PragmaticWench · 25/03/2019 05:04

Very pleased you're being looked after, although it's not good that it's encephalitis obviously!

Wishing you the best.

spiderlight · 25/03/2019 09:38

Oh my goodness - thank God you went in!!

backmassageplease · 25/03/2019 09:41

I feel relieved to be taken care of. Most of my pain has gone (thanks drugs), and I'm just resting and awaiting how long I may need to stay for. Hopefully it won't be too long... I have a little one at home still feeding and I look like Katie Price with these boobs!
