Sore nipples any advice?

My nipples have been so sore for about a week. They only thing I can describe them to feel like is when I first started breastfeeding and they were cracked and painful.

My youngest is 13 so I haven’t breastfed for over 11 years. I don’t wear lacy bras. I wear the t shirt material ones. I haven’t been using any new body moisturisers or washing powders. I’m not cold. They are excruciating painful to touch. Even if my arm brushes them and I’m wearing a jumper they sting like crazy.

My breasts don’t hurt it’s just the nipple. They aren’t cracked and haven’t changed colour. They are constantly erect though. There is no discharge and breasts haven’t changed shape and I have obviously checked for lumps.

Google is saying pregnant or cancer!!! I would be very very surprised if I was pregnant. I have pcos so I haven’t had a period for year. I also have a coil fitted. I have sex once in 3 months due to my husband working away.

Has anyone else had the same problem? Any advice what to do?

I have eczema and sometimes get it on my nipples. My nips dont like being touches hence theyvwere out of bounds when my lot were banies.

Try some hydro cortisone cream.

I was going to say pregnant (sorry OP!). That is exactly how mine were in early pregnancy. The thought of them being touched made me feel sick!

I'm not certain if you can get thrush if not feeding? And could also consider Reynauds phenomenon, again not sure if it's possible to get if not feeding. A trip to the GP is probably best.

Further reading indicates reynauds is possible. More common on fingers and toes but can affect nipples. But seriously, a gp visit is the most reliable way to get some proper help.
