For those of you who are advocates of CIO (cry it out) or the PUPD (pick up put down) methods how do you implement these with another kid in the room?
DD is 3 and can sleep through a fire alarm/massive storm/exploding microwave (all have happened). She and DS share a room and have done since he was 6 months old. Both are (usually) decent sleepers.
However DS is hard in a sleep regression phase and we need act before we get actually ill with the repeated night wakings (2200, 0100, 0330, 0545). I have absolute conviction that CIO will break the habit he (and we) have got into of giving him bottles and holding him until he sleeps but how did those of you who’ve been through similar cope with trying CIO when the younger one shares a room with an older, decent, sleeper
FYI we live in a tiny cottage and there is legit nowhere else we can put either child to sleep; they HAVE to share a room. We are moving in 7 weeks though and if things are still mental will split them up but would rather not. Again thoughts welcome.
