I do this.
The portions are massive so I micro them the day after or freeze.

'He’s laughing at these replies, apparently it’s because it’s to avoid waste and apparently if it’s good enough for Heston .....'

So if they don't all get eaten up this time round he's going to freeze the rest and do it all over again? Shock

I do this! They have to be good fat chips from a good chippie in the first place. I put the extras on a baking tray and freeze overnight. Then I pop them in a freezer bag, and put back in the freezer til I need them. I put them in a hot oven from frozen for abot 5 minutes. DS (at uni) puts his in the microwave. I think they are much better than oven chips - and needs must when I need a quick meal!

No he’s only going to reheat once
Not again and again
We usually get two cods, two sausages for the dc and two portions of chips
But the portions are wayyy too big and of course it’s filling battered cod so we don’t eat much xxx

Oh come on people, they'll be fine.

I wouldn't freeze them though, but I reheat them all the time, because a standard portion of fish and chips here is enough for two meals, so I will save the other half for lunch the next day.

Or if I have leftover chips, I often make them into a Spanish omelette, they're perfect for this.

There are many things in life you could, but shouldn't do.

This being one of them!

FoofFighter · 21/03/2019 18:19

I've reheated chippy chips before from the fridge, perfectly fine and in fact actually nicer than first time round :)

What a lot of hysterical opinions on here Confused

azulmariposa · 21/03/2019 19:48

Now I want some chippy chips!

topcat2014 · 21/03/2019 19:50

I just leave them on the side, wrapped in paper, and eat them the next day cold. If needed I will also mix them with leftover chinese and heat the whole lot up in a pan. I can eat them for breakfast tiny bit hungover sometimes

They would never last long enough to be frozen.

TruffleShuffles · 21/03/2019 19:54

I’m currently trying to decide if my area does the smallest portions of chips in the U.K. or I’m just an absolute pig as I can’t say I’ve ever had chip shop chips leftover Blush

EEELA · 21/03/2019 20:05

Apparently you can freeze them and reheat in an actifry/air fryer and they are very good. I've never tried it but friends of ours always do it.

jacksonmaine · 21/03/2019 20:09

I can't believe this has never crossed my mind before. In my entire life (nearly 50) this conversation or thought or idea has slipped me by until now...wtaf!

Kh65 · 04/02/2020 20:54

This has made me smile. In a world of 'chucking away' most are keen to. If they are good chips to begin with, then they will be fine reheated or refried. Stop wasting food guys. We are in a different era. I am over 50

Likethebattle · 04/02/2020 21:21

I have a workmate who told us a story about a guy he worked nightshift with who brought in a fish supper from the chip pie for halfway through his shift. He would reheat in the microwave, he shat himself at work more than once (probably more to do with reheating the fish than the chips).
