Ganglion cyst - doctor?

I have what I am pretty sure is a ganglion cyst on the inside of my wrist. It seemed to come out of nowhere. Doesn't hurt. Probably about 1cm wide.

I know they're not harmful but Dr Google says sometimes there are other cysts that are similar that may need removing, even though they're benign also.

Do I need to see a doctor? Seems like a waste of their time for a minor lump but equally I don't want to miss anything.

I had one, I went to my GP, he said the NHS will only remove them if they are causing pain or complications.

I threatened to use a book so he gave me a couple of syringes and sterile wipes and told me how to drain it. He said it would come back but it didn't.

The fluid is like a thick jell rather than liquid so you really need a syringe, they don't cost much online. Just make sure you have a sterile field and use alcohol wipes before hand.

I had one removed from my finger. GA, surgery and a funky scar. It had left me unable to grip properly with my hand though.
Perhaps I should have got my mum to hit it with her Strongs Concordance. Might have saved some bother.

Apologies for the late post but this thread really stayed with me as I have/had a ganglion on my wrist and the info in this thread really reassured me.

It's taken me over a month to build up the courage but finally this morning, I used a (hefty) pumice stone to hit my ganglion. And it seems to have disappeared so I think it's worked! A bit old school but effective.

Thank you all for the great advice!
