What do my buttons mean?

Finally, after almost a decade we've decided to plumb and use our dishwasher but I'll be buggared if I have a clue what the buttons mean... it's a Bosch slim dishwasher...

Any ideas? Have googled the model no but cant find a manual..

I'm a complete novice so even if you have no idea what the buttons mean... help!

END - will light at end of cycle
Tap - water (if there is an issue with it)
Funny S shape - salt needs refilled
Star/ snowflake thing - rinse aid needs refilled

The others are wash cycles

dementedpixie · 20/03/2019 21:26

And the one at the far right is a rinse cycle I think

MillicentMartha · 20/03/2019 21:26

Which ones? The 65, 50, 35 and rinse ones are pretty clear as different cycles. The indicator lights are less clear. Salt and rinse aid maybe, and finished?

So what wash do I need to put a full dish load on?

OP posts:
RandomMess · 20/03/2019 21:38

35 or 50 should be fine

dementedpixie · 20/03/2019 21:39

I would say 65 is intensive, 50 is a daily wash and 30 is a delicates wash

hugoagogo · 20/03/2019 21:42

I think the 60 would be for really dirty stuff, the 50 is normal and the 35 is a quick cycle for cups and glasses thar aren't that dirty.

How have you never used it before? My mind is boggled.Confused

Cjt110 · 20/03/2019 21:44

@hugoagogo

We always said as it was just 2 of us we didnt need it and washed up. Theres 3 of us and to be frank I've had enough of being a maid... happy to rinse and put in the DW...

Weve used them on holiday before but didnt have a clue

OP posts:
dementedpixie · 20/03/2019 21:45

you don't need to rinse the dishes. Just scrape food off and put them in

MadauntofA · 20/03/2019 21:52

We have that one. We rarely use the 65 unless doing a clean with vinegar. The 50 on ours is an eco setting, so generally use that one, the 35 again rarely used, only if not completely full and need it finished ASAP.

MadauntofA · 20/03/2019 21:53

If you want anything more specific, I'm sure I can dig out the manual and find the info for you

safariboot · 20/03/2019 21:58

We also have a Bosch, different controls though.

65 is the hot wash, meant for pots and pans and other stuff with baked-on dirt or lots of grease.

50 is the regular wash.

35 may be a quick wash. On our machine that one is just a wash and doesn't dry!

The fourth I'm not sure about. Try it and see.

Cjt110 · 20/03/2019 22:08

I've selected a 50 and it's still bloody going... I wanna go to bed!!

OP posts:
Cjt110 · 20/03/2019 22:09

I have some "all in one" tablets. Do I need "rinse aid" or salt also?

OP posts:
hothotsoup · 20/03/2019 22:13

Can you not go to bed and leave it going?

I use all in ones and added salt when I first got the machine but has never needed replacing. I do use rinse aid as well though, that seems to go down

hugoagogo · 20/03/2019 22:14

They do take a while, but you can go to bed and leave it running.Grin

GreenTulips · 20/03/2019 22:16

Please use salt it keeps your pipes clear and clean

Take the bottom rack out and it should be a palm sized tank for the salt

Cjt110 · 20/03/2019 22:21

Ok. Salt is good. We live in a soft water area... though?

The washer and the dish washer are both plumbed wrong... well .. the pipe feeding them should be cold and it's not. It's hot and direct from the boiler.

Our hot water comes in at 10 :-( I dont want a cold shower tomorrow lol

OP posts:
AdaColeman · 20/03/2019 22:24

If you are really stuck, email Bosch customer services with the name/type and ask them to send you a manual email download.

dementedpixie · 20/03/2019 22:24

They're supposed to be cold fill and heat the water themselves. Why are they attached to the hot feed?

Cjt110 · 20/03/2019 22:26

@dementedpixie because the morons who built our home put what was supposed to be a cold pipe, and has blue taps, as a hot pipe from the boiler..

OP posts:
Cjt110 · 20/03/2019 22:27

@AdaColeman 👍

I feel proper stupid lol

OP posts:
dementedpixie · 20/03/2019 22:27

My eco wash takes over 2 hours. When did it start?

AdaColeman · 20/03/2019 22:28

The hot fill might mean that you don't get wonderful results, it should be cold fill really. Hot fill might seal food particles onto dishes.

dementedpixie · 20/03/2019 22:29

I use salt and rinse aid even when using all in one products. I just buy own make salt/ rinse aid
