Me, about 3 days because I loathe peanut butter and would need to be bribed into it. DH about 5 minutes and he'd load the dishwasher too.

GreysMad · 20/03/2019 23:12

Me, probably 5-10 minutes including tidying up. DP, more like 30 because he'll spend 10 minutes talking about making them before actually doing it then use every utensil we own to make them, then not clean up because he's busy eating. But I don't mind so much because he makes a cracking double decker ham & chicken salad (mine are never that good)

Lardlizard · 20/03/2019 23:32

It took dh ten mins

It would take me 2

DH 2 mins because he's ultra organised, me about 15 mins as I usually faff

SpoonBlender · 21/03/2019 00:01

Oh goody, a misandry thread! My favourite. Hmm

About two minutes, for either of us.

Twolittlebears · 21/03/2019 01:39

Just peanut butter! I wouldn't put butter as well... too much!

TheMaddHugger · 21/03/2019 04:04

DH of 35 yrs plus. 4 minutes to make both. Me. meh probs 3 minutes

TheMaddHugger · 21/03/2019 04:05

Hmmm DH likes Butter on his. I dont.

GottaGetUp · 21/03/2019 04:39

Wtf is the point of this thread? If DH and I made the same sandwich it would take the same amount of time. If we put different ingredients into the sandwich it might be quicker/slower depending on what we use.

So fucking what?

Longdistance · 21/03/2019 05:10

It’d take me about 5 minutes to sort dds packed lunches. Dh would take about 15 minutes and not put stuff back in the fridge as well as leaving crumbs and mess behind 🙄

I make my sandwich first, otherwise I have to tell him to stop and interrupt his sandwich making. I’d die of starvation waiting for him to finish.

ValleyoftheHorses · 21/03/2019 05:25

It would take us both about the same amount of time, maybe 5 minutes? The result would be the same except his maybe a bit nicer and of course he’d tidy up afterwards. He’s an adult, he’s just as good at food preparation and keeping the house clean and tidy as I am. I’m a little bit confused by some replies on here sometimes!

TrixieFranklin · 21/03/2019 05:30

Well as a woman it obviously takes me just mere seconds to make whilst a chorus of singing woodland creatures prance around me clearing up as I go.
That evil DH with his giant man-cock swinging about would take 7 years and leave a path of hellfire behind.

Hmm

Except that all these useless husbands seem to magically get out of pulling their weight in the house so seem to be doing quite well out of this.

FWIW DH gets the kids up and to school every day without any assistance from me since I've already left the house. So no idea how long he take to make a packed lunch but within the acceptable time range and with acceptable tidying. But then he is a grown man who is capable of looking after himself and our children without supervision.

MaybeitsMaybelline · 21/03/2019 05:56

Like it or not the reality is for many of us that it would take DH three times longer and there would be loads of mess left behind.

ChoccyBiccyTastic · 21/03/2019 05:58

The same amount of time.
I would use a plate, a grater and one knife.
DH would use 2 plates, a grater, 6 knives, the large chopping board, 2 saucepans, a baking tray, a corer, a garlic crusher, and the nutri bullet.

maxinespalour · 21/03/2019 06:13

I just hope whoever is making the peanut butter sandwich, isn't doing it for a school packed lunch!!!

MarvinMarvinson · 21/03/2019 06:17

I've no idea, I don't care how long it takes him so I've never noticed. Why would it matter if we're talking minutes difference? Definitely no need for butter on a peanut butter sarnie though.

GottaGetUp · 21/03/2019 06:36

Then your DHs need to grow the fuck up.

Lardlizard · 21/03/2019 08:59

I managed to pretty much tidy the whole kitchen after tea by the time he finished making the sarnies
I actually don’t know how it’s even possible to do it that slowly ! I timed him out of interest
He does seem quite knackered from work though

It’s a good job, he doesn’t work at subway or he’d be sacked by now

Are you all married to my 6 yo?

SurgeHopper · 21/03/2019 20:14

DH is pretty crap at cooking, he takes a while but I have to say he is amazing at cleaning the kitchen, washing up and emptying the dishwasher. Even quicker than me?!

BullShite

it's dismissive and demeaning to men to expect less from them.

underneaththeash · 22/03/2019 11:13

DH and probably the same, although he wouldn’t know where the peanut butter or wraps were.
It would take my MIL over an hour I reckon, considering she took 35 minutes to make a cup of tea and two pieces of toast yesterday morning. Luckily she has gone home.
