Do you let your kids snack on fruit between meals?

I don't let my kids snack freely on fruit. They like fruit and could eat mountains of it, but I'm happier when they have something with protein and/or healthy fats.

Do you have a blanket rule like "you can only have fruit between meals" or are snacks a mix of the food groups?

Some of you would have an attack of the vapours when you see what gets eaten in my house! I'm not saying one is right and one is wrong but i can see that, between this thread and the soft drink one, my parenting approach to food and drink is best described as 'lax'.

Mine can snack on anything.

Try telling a 17 yr old “no snack till tea time”. I dont ban foods.
