British seaside holiday at Easter - survival tips and packing essentials please!

Heading off on a coastal holiday at Easter with a 4yo and 2yo. Weather could of course do pretty much anything! Previous beach holidays have largely been abroad pre-kids and have involved packing little more than bikini, sunscreen and a good book.

The optimist in me imagines kids frolicking on the sand and exploring rock pools. The pessimist in me imagines wind, rain and soggy cold sandy kids,

What do we need to pack to do this well? Any sanity savers that are worth buying? Brilliant hacks that avoid sand getting everywhere? I’m all ears!

Where are you heading? I’d plan lots of days out to places if you’re going to a touristy type place. Otherwise if you’re planning lots of outdoors stuff then lots of warm clothes! Are you staying in a cottage, caravan or hotel?

Splash suits, spare clothes, a second set of spare towels, a Poundland or similar bucket and spade set each.

Go onto daysoutwiththekids and look for farm parks, soft play, museums, theme parks in the area. Check the weather and plan accordingly. Have time fillers for the acccomodation. Those aqua pen sets, simple colouring, new books, sticker pads.

My top tips!
You can pack more in your boot by replacing suit cases with bags for life - and then you can use the empty bags as a laundry basket, for shopping, going swimming, to the beach....
Take a insulated lunch bag and a couple of mini ice packs for days out.
Talcum powder will help remove sand from damp bodies.
Dont forget chargers for electronic devices!
Always take your own tin opener, bottle opener and cork acrew :-)
Hope you have a great time!

When it was cold and wet in the beach, we put the kids in watwrerproof onesies so they wouldn't get cold playing on the baleach but still had lots of fun. Plus the sand just runs off the onesies.
