Perfect Saturday alone with toddler and heavily pregnant?

Just me and my 2yo DS tomorrow as DH is working and then away at a do. I’ve got to the point in pregnancy where everything hurts and trying to come up with ideas that mean that DS and I have a lovely day together without biting off more than we can chew!

Any ideas on how you’d spend a lovely Saturday with toddler whilst heavily pregnant?

Lots of playdoh! And, I’ll be honest, some telly Grin

Would he sit through a film at the cinema?

Furble · 15/03/2019 16:40

We’ve not tried cinema yet but could definitely try a movie at home!
Also love the play doh idea, could also try some kind of easy cooking together! Thank you both!

I’m 39 weeks and been trying to entertain my toddler all week but it’s been tough going. Lots of me sitting down throwing a ball for him to play tennis, we made some pizzas for lunch from tortilla wraps, watched more Cbeebies than I would like to own up to.

Just see how you feel tomorrow.

At 2 my ds could play independently at the park so I would haul myself there and sit on a bench while he tired himself out. Then home for play doh and stories and telly.

Or how about swimming? I think relaxing days with toddlers are always more relaxing when they've done some real physical exertion first :-)

Have a lovely day

I would go and do something to tire him out on the morning and something relaxing on the afternoon.
We always enjoyed making a carpet picnic together. Ds loved trying to spread his jam sandwiches and picking his fruit etc.

Any kids shows at any local theatres?
Children's centre events?
Library events?
Garden centre? (Ours has fish, animals and a little soft play.)

Watch a film and teach him how to feed you chocolate.

Swimming then a delicious lunch, then hopefully your toddler will snooze. Swimming because it will tire them out, it supports your aching body, and personally I find the thought of taking two DC swimming alone utterly impossible, so it could be a long time before you go again. Make sure the lunch is nice and carby and has an ice cream at the end Smile

Fun afternoon bath.

Loads of bubbles. Toys he wouldn't normally have in the bath (Duplo, dinosaurs, teddy who needs a bath, teaset). Bath crayons or mouldable soap. Could put on some bath themed music if you fancy. Get comfy and watch/play from your comfy sitting down position!

Then into cosy clothes for a snuggly late afternoon movie!
