Private healthcare or NHS route for lump

I think I've found a lump in my breast.

I'm wondering if I need a scan of some sort to check it out do you think I should stick NHS or go private?

I've heard some patients who went private struggled to get back in on the NHS quickly.

Could I just have a scan privately and then go back to NHS with results?

The nhs is very fast for suspicious lumps, if they then refer on for treatment you can decide on the pathway

The needle biopsy would be to take a sample from the lump to send for testing.

Hi All, quick update.

I've been to the GP and he said it feels like tender tissue rather than a lump. And cancer is highly unlikely.

He said it's probably to do with my period and to leave it 2 cycles before going back if I still have it after 2 months and to take paracetamol for the pain.

So I guess that's good.

Thank you all for your responses earlier Flowers

Hi All

So the lump never disappeared l. I've been referred to the breast clinic just to check things over .

And he said the NHS is a fast track route to the breast clinic. So to anyone who finds the post. Its 1 week max to get my app date and then the app will be within 2 weeks from the letter date.
