Any brain people about? What do you think happened to me?

Yeah I know I need to see a gp but until then.. What do you think happened to me yesterday? I felt tired and lay on my bed to rest. I wasn't asleep but I had my eyes closed. I felt a definite 'click/pop' in my front right brain & it was accompanied by a flash of white (internally) that looked like a bit like paint spill. I was shocked & blinked my eyes a few times to see if it was that, but the room was in darkness - it didn't happen from blinking. I've never had an experience like it before. I wonder if it might be a symptom of a TIA? I'm in quite poor health at the moment from stress, waiting for a court case. Strokes run in my family, my cousin had several in her 30s & was confined to a wheelchair. Or do you think it's just one of those things?

Dr google mentions a retina issue.

I'm not sure what it could be a symptom of but sounds like not much, just a random flash. I have had them once or twice. Always worth getting checked out though I guess, getting a routine eye check might be a good idea.

Possible brain issues? Well, I would wait 24 hours then ask MNers if they think I've had a stroke Hmm

Seriously, seek medical advice! I know this is grumpy but it's a bit of a sore subject for me atm and this sort of thing on MN really annoys me. It's irresponsible - both the person asking, and the non medically qualified people answering.

Please seek medical advice.

Sorry, wait, then Dr Google then ask MN. Hmm

MN is fabulous for all sorts of stuff and I have asked lots in the past, advice on how to deal with diagnosed medical issues etc, but it's not a diagnostic tool.

I actually think we are getting to the point where MNHQ have to post on threads like these. Along the lines of don't give money to strangers on here...don't dish out or accept medical advice from strangers. We shouldn't need to have to say this stuff though really.

I’m a head injury sufferer but I don’t feel overly qualified to comment on neurological issues, despite having a neurological involuntary movement disorder too. I would definitely see your GP, but in my layman opinion, I have had a similar experience and it sounds normal. OTOH, I am not normal neurologically so probably best to ignore me!😆
