Mirena coil and cerazette- thoughts please

I am having the mirena taken out after a month because of constant bleeding and pain- I had it for contraception and am 51, but still having regular periods.
Trouble is the threads have disappeared right up to the top of my cervix and various Drs have failed to get it out.
I had an ultrasound today- and this will require a specialist appointment where they will apparently use a 'lasso' to hook it out- oh joy makes me sound like a prize bit of cattle at a rodeo.

The Dr has suggested trying a progesterone only pill next like cerazette .
Since the mirena has caused constant bleeding is it a given that cerazette will also cause problems?
I am currently taking large doses of norethisterone to stop the bleeding and it is finally working.
I would be really interested to hear from anyone who has had experiences of both the pop and the mirena. Did one work and not the other? Did neither?.
Feeling frustrated and slightly desperate.

I was on cerazette for over 10 years. It completely stopped my periods and I only had light spotting for a day or two about once a year. I know this isn’t the same for everyone, but it worked well for me.
It did effect my mood though and ultimately I came off it as I started to really suffer from anxiety once I hit 40.
Having periods again is a pain but my anxiety has improved dramatically.

Been on cerazette on and off for 4 years. I’m currently going through 2 weeks of spotting on cerazette... The spotting is the only issue I have with this pill. Also, it hasn’t stopped my periods. They’re just extremely light now.

Had miranda. Lasted 8 hours before i ripped it out. Never felt pain like it.

Thanks for your thoughts.
If it were an option to take it out myself that would be nice.
I have to and be booked into hospital under sedation.

I've got the opposite, started cerrazette and been bleeding every day for 2 months (not heavily but still a pain in the arse). They are saying to try the coil but I think it would be the same issues....
