HELP! Back fat in wedding dress...wedding on Friday!

Tried on my wedding dress last night and noticed, for the first time (!) that I have visible back fat in the dress. It is a corset style back with ribbons to lace up. Now I'm not fat, i'm a size 10 at 5 foot 5 so i'm quite slim but this is making me so so paranoid. Is there anything I can do?! I do have a faux fur bolero which I will be wearing in register office and outside for photos but I imagine I will want to be taking it off later and now I feel like I can't because of this Sad

I wore a veil for my second wedding (took it off got the reception - veils are surprisingly warm!) and nobody seemed to think it was weird. It's not a sign of virginity.

I thought that too MollysLips but when I googled I got results saying that veils are still associated with purity and virginity....!

I personally wouldn’t wear a veil second time round.
Boon tape is what you need to pull the back fat forward and up.

Congrats on the amazing weight loss! 💐

Unless you are going to pull it over your face and do the lifting thing when you get there, a veil is really only a pretty accessory isn't it? Its only a veil if its over your face and if its only going to cover your back then ..........??!!!

Anyway, about the 'back fat' which I'm sure isn't as bad as you feel it is, if it is just excess skin could you tuck it in when you lace up?

CalmDownPacino · 11/03/2019 16:25

I'm probably going to leave the veil because my hair is going to be hidden if I have one and my very talented friend is doing a gorgeous style for me. Will try the dress again with lacing from the bottom and some assistance to shove the...skin around Grin

If all else fails I will just keep the bolero on until I have had too much prosecco to care!

It's not a problem to wear a veil with a white wedding dress the two go together and the symbol of purity thing is a bit old fashioned anyway.
But I think you would feel more confident if you could get the dress to fit nicely by changing the lacing etc. You might even be able to get a dressmaker to alter it a little.

Just to update, I had another go last night and we laced from the bottom. There is still an issue, i'm obviously just too fat for the dress! Bolero arrives today so will have to just hide the blubber under that.

I had this, it's the dress. Get someone to put their hands in the middle of the back of the dress, under the dress. Then smooth (shove) the skin round. Smooths it out!
