Airline seat size & pitch - how do I find this out?

Presumably I need to know not just the airline but the type of plane?

And then I would need to know how it compares against just other airlines.

Is there a comparison website that does this?

Also, is there an easy way to find the type of aircraft an airline uses for particular routes - or do I have to research each airline individually by going to their website?

Have never looked at this before but as am now looking at some non mainstream airlines for long haul I thought I should do some researching here!

Try www.seatguru.com

Go to the website of the airport that you’re flying out of. Search for your flight in the flight timetable section. It should tell you the aircraft.

This is Heathrow’s timetable www.heathrow.com/plan-and-book-your-trip/flight-timetable

Do not assume that every aircraft of the same make/type will have the same seat configuration/number. The layout (if the aircraft is brought in new) and number of seats will be to a particular airlines specification.

Google the flight numbers, you will get them from skyscanner which will give you the type of plane and then use seat guru. Alternatively, contact the airline, I’ve just done this with Emirates using live chat and they were able to help.

Thanks.

Quite a bit of research to do but at least I have an idea as to how to go about it!

In terms of benchmarking seat dimensions/ pitch against other airlines, would Emirates be a solid benchmark (it flies that route)?

(Trying to avoid looking up loads of flight numbers!)

I was also going to suggest seatguru.

Quite useful although airlines do change planes to those originally specified so you can end up with a different layout.

Sorry, been out!
I’ve used Emirates previously and planning to use them again later this year. The A380 appears to be a good standard, not sure about their 777 compared to others.
