How many painkillers do you take in a day?

I know some people suffer serious pain conditions which I don’t but I get headaches and lower back pain and seem to be popping pills every day. Today I have had four ibuprofen and my back is feeling so sore I am thinking of taking another two. Then possibly another one or two at bedtime if it still hasn’t shifted. Is this normal for the average person with no particular illness?

After many years of sometimes crippling pain and not getting useful advice or treatment from the GP/physio, I read a thread on here and realised I have an unstable sacroiliac joint. I Googled suitable exercises and now rarely have pain. If I put my back out, which I do sometimes, I take ibuprofen/use ibuprofen gel for 2 or 3 days until it gets better.

The health professional I found most helpful was a specialist in sports injuries/massage.

OP do you do any regular stretching?

also you mentioned you are a carer - are the headaches stress headaches? I'm wondering if any herbal pills might help with that.

OP if you take ibuprofen every day then you need to be on a proton pump inhibitor to protect your stomach. They can do some serious damage if you don't take care with them. Regular doses of paracetamol is also risky to your kidneys.

I was the same , try and see a chiropractor or an oesteopath. This should help with lower back pain. You can also find exercises for lower back pain on you tube. Doing these daily help cut down my need for painkillerS.

If blood tests are showing your are deficient in b12 you really ought to be taking the supplements. B12 deficiency can cause all sorts of issues.
