Why do cleaners always start off cleaning well and gradually get worse?

Yep, first world problem I know!

I've had a few different cleaners over the past few years and they all start off really well, cleaning very thoroughly and then over the course of a few months do less and less cleaning whilst they're here and less of a thorough job.

Current cleaner was brilliant at first; the house would be sparkling but she's started to miss off things that she always used to do and doesn't seem to be cleaning other things instead of the things she's missing off.

I pay her well and our house is very, very tidy, so it's not like I pay her a pittance and leave her a shit tip to clear up.

Does anyone else have this problem with cleaners?

I have had my current cleaner for years and she is in the main fab, I did have one who stole from me. A lot of Euros I had stashed in a drawer for the next time I went away and a Clarins blusher that I had stashed waiting for the other one to run out., when it did that is when I noticed. I said it to the dog walker who said that the local hairdresser had just fired her as her stuff had started to go missing.

When I had the temerity to complain on here, a very prolific and confrontational poster told me I deserved it and cited a lot of Trotskyesque shite...

It was a Friday night and we wondered if she was pissed but she followed me around the board for days trying to raise an argument.

Obviously stealing is a different story. Whatever a cleaner steals should be worth losing her entire business for as an angry customer on social media can destroy a persons reputation.

To whoever said the shoe rack thing is funny, I should add that it was full of our shoes at the time! All pairs were soaked! I really don't see anything funny in that.

Im acleaner and try my hardest not to be like this. Sometimes forexample,i will notice the kitchen is particularly dirty and deep clean it, then leaving less time for another area. But i would let client know thats what iv done and pay said area extra attention following week

Unfortunately my cleaner doesn't seem to be deep cleaning anything. I wouldn't mind the neglected tasks if she did. This week all she seemed to have done was clean the kitchen floor and the bath. In 3 hours!

I would start giving her a list of things you want her to do for a while. That way you can check that the things are done. I always text my clients the night before to check if there is anything extra to do. I do all my cobweb checks in the same week on all the houses I clean and let them know if I have cleaned anything extra or didn’t get round to doing something by text after I’m done.

I think people are better if they are kept informed.

Its not just that but at end of day when you get to clients homes and their child has dropped their iron and your expected to use an iron thag has been dropped when im doing cleaning and laundry services. Im sorry but I did ask her if I cud of bought my own iron but the following week later she got rid of me. I found it odd. But then I spotted pics of fb of her house wiv this other womens cleaning company. That made me mad. As she just got rid of me all bcus I didnt wanna use her iron. An I looked after her doggo aswell. Lovely family. Nice home but sorry not using damaged electrical equipment.
