Ocado tie in with M&S

Research published today suggests that many Ocado shoppers see Waitrose as the big draw and will possibly stop using Ocado once they tie-in with M&S from 2020.
I have to say that I agree with this - I don't see M&S as a like-for-like replacement for Waitrose. Waitrose is a supermarket but M&S is all pre-packed veg and ready meals.
If you currently use Ocado, will your habits change?

I don’t currently use Ocado but will probably start when the M&S tie in starts!

From what I can gather Ocado had little choice about losing Waitrose and this was their best alternative

I’ve used Ocado for years. They have grown their own brand stuff a lot. I do though buy quite a bit of Waitrose branded stuff particularly their essentials range. I will probably give it a go but switch out quickly if not working for me.

I haven’t used Ocado for a while now but will start again once they start delivering m&s.

M&S ready meals are the only ones I would buy anyway - Waitrose ones are horrible.. ll

I tried Ocado once, they failed to deliver, their customer service was appalling and I thought I had consigned them to the bin forever. But, if they start delivering M & S food, I may have to relent and give them another chance against my better judgement.

I've used them for years and will be staying. Waitrose direct is appalling in my experience.

To be honest I only buy maybe 25% Waitrose own stuff which i think will be easily replaced by M&S. M&S also has a great gluten free range whereas Waitrose is crap so I'm looking forward to that!

I was disappointed at first, I've used Ocado for years and love waitrose stuff.

I'm more intrigued and curious now as to what impact it will have on my bill and I will look forward to being able to easily buy certain things.

If it gets too pricey I will have to change to Sainsbury but I like the ocado model, I rarely have substitutions and they almost always deliver on time.

I dont know if it's related but for the first time I noticed some 'value' ranges in Marks this weekend. Big bag of penne for 55p, huge block of cheese for £2ish. Not Aldi prices but far closer to 'grocery shopping' prices than I've ever seen in there.

I’ll try it but likely will stop using. I buy a lot of Waitrose basics and cooking ingredients and M&S just don’t have the range. I don’t but ready meals or prepared veg, meat etc and that’s where M&S strengths are.

I've used Ocado for years for my weekly shop. I like M&S but do consider it a different price point so don't know whether I'll continue.

My weekly Ocado shop tends to be around £220 but I went to M&S tonight for dinner and some "bits and pieces" (including some eastern eggs and wine) and it was £150
