That there is no such word as "expediate". The correct word is "expedite"

I wanted to ask someone in an email to "expediate the process". Spell check chucked up the error so I googled to find out how to spell it. Apparently "expediate" came about after a typo to the word "expedite" in 1605 however it has not made it into the "official" language yet!

Anyone else have any mind = blown moments to make me feel better about my decades of incorrect English?

I cannot abide the phrase 'today years old' sorry OP.

I will add, I hadn't realised until this week that Pancake Day and Mardi Gras were the same festival.

"Today years old"? That is an infuriating phrase!

Mardi Gras ends on shrove Tuesday but it's not just a one day event

Can't remember who it was but I found it so funny that someone on here thought ballache was pronounced 'ballash' Grin
