Garden leave - WTAF?

Hello!
So, after a lot of messing about, I'm on garden leave. But, there is shit all to do in my garden AS IT IS STILL WINTER here, lol.
Any ideas how to pass the time without planning an assassination of my former employer? All ideas welcome :-)

Go with the assassination plan

But write it up as a novel (with screen potential) rather than carry out murder.

Can you see yourself as an author?

If not, even when the weather is bad, most gardens would benefit from a new patio. Or you could convert garage to granny annexe (especially if you have some old kid's duvet covers to get rid of)

The whole point of gardening leave is you don't talk about the reasons why, so writing a novel is tempting but forbidden. It's a bit like fight club....
My garden is lovely. Honest. I need to find something else that is productive.

I'm in a similar situation. Apart from Mumsnet I've developed an obsession with clearing out cupboards etc and listing stuff on eBay. I've also done three trips to the tip with recycling and rubbish. I think DH is worried I will go through his wardrobe.
The house still doesn't look any tidier Sad

I get you @Jedimindreader . My ktchen is so clean you could eat your meal off the floor and go away with extra vitamins!
What's your next plsn?

I've signed up to a free month on linked in premium to learn new skills to give me something to do. And am doing three classes a week at the gym - I've discovered muscles and pain in didn't know existed

I've honestly heard of a garden leave that consisted of going into the office to sit in a room, alone, 9-5, no phone or electronics, only books allowed, nothing related to the job and nothing current like newspapers or magazines. Count yourself lucky!! This was a US law firm.
Go the cinema, go swimming, declutter your home, bake or cook elaborate recipes, read, go to a museum, have a little trip away if you can afford it.

Try a few free open university courses, they're the old modules from the degree courses.

@Ihatesandwiches plenty for you to do here I'll write a list and leave you a key under the doorstep

"The whole point of gardening leave is you don't talk about the reasons why"

So in your novel, you concentrate on the assassination bit, not the reasons for tending your garden. Maybe you could invent an unjust sacking by orchestrated by colleague who turns out to be boss's mafia mistress, who you then frame for the crime?

Hello! And thank you for your ideas..
I decided to hide under a blanket and binge watch Netflix as I have been child free this weekend.
I'm going to pass on the assassination novel idea - tempting, but I can't concentrate long enough!
I'm decluttering like mad. It is therapeutic, I never knew I had so many pairs of boring black court shoes. Tomorrow I'm on a search and rescue hunt in the kitchen to match Tupperware tubs and lids.
I'll count myself lucky I dont have to be "imprisoned" and take advantage of the fact i can be on gardening leave and do my own thing (even if that is navel gazing).
The OU idea sounds interesting. I'll have a look once I've reunited my Tupperware as it sounds like I'll have to make actual decisions.
Sorry, Katt, leave your key for some one else!
