Dessert table- tell me your favourites!

I'm throwing my DP a surprise birthday party fairly soon, we're having a hog roast for the normal food and I want to add a dessert table for later on. There will be a chocolate birthday cake, a few vanilla and carrot cupcakes but I want to add a few different things so what would your favourite dessert be at a party?

A big sherry trifle!

Raspberry Pavlova.

Coffee with a selection of posh, nutty biscuits.

I'm so glad people are saying profiteroles, they're my all time faves and can now go on the list Smile

Thanks for the good wishes @GabrielleNelson it's hard work planning and having to keep quiet about it!

Cake pops always look great on a dessert table as you can display them in decorative pots/ plant pots filled with sand/ tin foil/ floral foam to bring a bit of height and colour

I love lemon meringue pie but Nigella’s lemon meringue cake is just as good and much easier to make! www.nigella.com/recipes/lemon-meringue-cake

A peach and strawberry fruit salad would be very refreshing after a hog roast.

Eton mess
Creme brûlée
Lemon mousse
Baked cheesecake (like the one they used to sell in M&S when I was a kid)

Cheesecake- most flavours
Like the idea of the cheese board as well.

If having hot apple crumble and custard.

labazsisgoingmad · 07/03/2019 18:36

thesnailandthewhale · 07/03/2019 21:50

Kebabs - strawberries, pineapple, mango, grapes, marshmallows

Moorfields · 07/03/2019 22:00

All my favourite options have been suggested so I've nothing further to add. So I will ask if you've got a vegetarian main course option as you've got a hog roast for the carnivores.

baubled · 08/03/2019 06:05

@Moorfields yes of course! Not expecting vegetarians to eat a hog roast.
