Would you eat meat that had been in the freezer for more than six months?

Running low on Tupperware so I had a root around the freezer to check which leftovers were in there. One chicken curry, one beef stew, both have been there since around July. I think both are fine to eat but wanted to check others’ views. Would you eat them? If so what’s the maximum you would store frozen meat?

I had a three year old pork leg a few weeks back. Was 100% fine.

I'd eat frozen food no matter how old (or young!) it was as long as it looked and smelled ok once defrosted and/or cooked through. You can have something that's been frozen for years and is fine, or something that's been frozen a week but is off.

@Coffeebean76 obviously giving everyone food poisoning is not what I mean. But presumably you don't but rancid food in the freezer in the first place.

Have you not notices that frozen turkeys at Christmas have about 3 yrs freeze date?

Yes, why wouldn’t you! People have eaten mammoth that has been frozen for 250,000 years (allegedly).

Definitely :-)

Yes, fed the family on meat that's been in freezer for over a year. Blush

Yes, eat it. Had some fish on Monday, over a year in freezer. Texture was not great but was ok to eat, no ill effects. Wouldn't have offered it around tbough
