I’ve recently moved to Maidenhead,Berkshire.
A few years ago I used I was an independent cleaner .
I want to advertise locally and try to build up a clientele again.
What are the current rates & do you stipulate & minimum number of hours?
Thanks

I'm in Cardiff and charge 13ph. There will be someone here shortly saying they pay 10p/h which is shameful as its under minimum wage.

Er, minimum wage is £8.21 from April, generally cleaners are self employed and set their own rates, so it's not a wage.
Mine charges £12.50 ph.

I'm in Bucks and pay £13 ph.

I live about 20 minutes from Maidenhead and pay £15ph. I discussed with my cleaner what I wanted doing, she said it will be X hours a week, on the weeks it takes less time she either does an extra job for me like cleaning skirting or she will ask for the pay pro rated. I normally just pay her the normal amount though as she is wonderful.

RateMyCleaner · 05/03/2019 20:09

Thanks all. I think I’ll go with £13 ph

Hey Fire technically you are correct but firstly if you are in receipt of wtc you can't unless your hours add up to minimum wage. Even if you don't claim who would want to work for less? Fuel, insurance, accounting and pro ducts all chip away at your 'take home' Wink

Then, it becomes a business decision, which depends on the going rate, overheads etc... but ultimately that decision is made by the cleaner.

Clients aren't interested in the cleaner's wtc but want a good, honest and reliable worker at a reasonable rate. Nothing shameful about that.

No there isn't and I see you pay yours fairly anyway. Its a moot point anyway as no one has suggested a tenner anyway Grin
Its an absolute piss take though 10ph and being in the profession my personal observations are that cleaners who are happy with £10 per hour are usually cash in hand.
