What age do babies stop waking up the second the pram stops moving?

Because I can't remember!

Yes I know lots of babies never woke up the second it stopped moving and they started sleeping through the night as soon as they started crowning.

But babies who needed movement to keep them asleep in the pram or car seat, when do they get to an age where they will just stay asleep when the movement stops?

I think mine was about 4-5 months

Ok, a few more weeks then.
Thanks for your reply!

Mine kept it up until about 9 months

I honestly can't remember, OP, but I feel your pain. DS was at this stage when I moved out of London to a small village in the very cold winter of 2012-13, and my main memory is trudging stoically up and down Main Street (more or less the only street, and not very long, either) for hours of every day.

Mine, never, but thank goodness she sleeps like a champ in her cot! I’ve always been envious of friends with little ones who could park up the pram for a coffee after a short stroll. I’d be the one frantically pacing about for 2 hours to get her off, and she’d wake as soon as I stopped!

She’s now nearly 2, and I have friends with little ones the same age who can TRANSFER THEM TO BED FROM THE CAR SEAT ASLEEP - what sort of witchcraft is this?

sar302 · 05/03/2019 14:13

Mines 15 months old - I'll let you know! Lol. Same when the car stops moving. Thankfully he sleeps perfectly in his cot, so we just make sure we're home for naps. Not at all inconvenient 🙈

Bombalarino · 05/03/2019 14:18

Darn it! Looks like we'll be waiting a while!

Gooseygoosey12345 · 05/03/2019 14:34

Erm.. never? Grin

peachgreen · 05/03/2019 15:35

I assumed they either did or didn't. Mine ever has and she's 13mo.

STOPSCRATCHINGTHECRADLECAP · 05/03/2019 16:27

They either do or they don't?!

Fuck!

Mine started to stay asleep in the buggy from 12 months old....also when he stopped waking up 50000 times a night (that's an exaggeration but bloody felt like it) and stopped fighting naps with every fibre of his being.

STOPSCRATCHINGTHECRADLECAP · 05/03/2019 19:53

12 months?! 😭😭😭😭

Sorry, but I think it's personality. I had one who never stayed asleep and was untransferrable, early waker and one who slept anywhere, could be moved and when could toddle would take themselves off to bed when tired.

Upsy1981 · 05/03/2019 21:37

Erm.... Never! I can count on one hand the number of times DD stayed asleep in the pram when we got home! I can still remember them now 12 years later! It was like magic... As soon as the pram crossed the threshold her eyes would ping open!
