DS broken arm - what’s easy to eat?

Poor DS (10y) has broken his upper arm - needing a cast from wrist to armpit. It’s his dominant hand, of course!
We are managing copious use of wet wipes and elasticated waists. He is of course frustrated as generally v active and sporty.
Any genius tips for easily eaten food?
We are using sports bottles for drinks, brioche/banana/ yogurt pouches for breakfast, sandwiches and prepared fruit for lunch.

I am struggling to think of dinner, other than dry things to pick up (sandwiches/fishfingers/nuggets), or things eatable with a spoon without spilling (cut up sausage and mash, jacket pot with cheese/tuna mayo).
Unfortunately his favourite foods involve noodles/rice/soup/gravy, which will be so messy or difficult, likely to get v frustrated.

I know only for a few weeks, but want to minimise effects of less exercise and carby food. Any other general tips greatly appreciated!

He has mastered the toilet with left hand 😁

Serve the same food in big mugs with a big napkin or apron in case of problems? The Sistema lunch mugs might be good. If he likes noodles there will be a certain amount of noisy sucking of noodles which should be tolerated Grin. Likewise also allow him to use a fork/spoon and bend down close to the mug on the table.

Cut his dinner up and give him a spoon, he should be able to eat things with gravy. Anything with rice or gravy stick in a bowl it's easier than a flat plate. I used to chop my ds noodle up into little bits and give them a spoon because it was too fiddly with a fork.

Thanks both, mugs a great idea! I’ll tell him to be authentic and slurp up the noodles. We’re only on day 2, so he’s pretty fed up - am sure will become more adept as he goes on.

I was going to say soup out of a Sistema mug! And a spoon for rice dishes.
