BBC clock is wrong this morning and it’s caused chaos!

We always rely on the BBC TV clock in the mornings and it’s about 30 minutes out (early) this morning. DD hung around and has now missed the bus! What’s going on!! 😂

Ach, TV doesn't go on for flymaybe until it's Kyle o'clock and she's cracking open the first tinny of the day.

Amirite?

HaroldsSocalledBluetits · 05/03/2019 21:16

STANDARDS

Elisheva · 05/03/2019 21:18

My children never watch tv in the morning, they watch YouTube and chat to some lovely friend called Momo or something.

Morgan12 · 05/03/2019 21:18

I even let my DS play his PlayStation before school. Do alert the media.

StitchingMoss · 05/03/2019 21:19

Argh! This thread has been completely derailed by the crazy comment Grin.

OP, what happened?? Did anyone on the tv notice? Did they apologise??

loulou0987 · 05/03/2019 21:20

Had your tv been paused?? That has happened to me before!

onefootinthegrave · 05/03/2019 21:21

I've also left the tv on for the cat before now. But he's a fussy bugger, refuses to watch anything but Jeremey Kyle Grin

HaroldsSocalledBluetits · 05/03/2019 21:21

It wasn't wrong on everyone's telly. Just the OP's.

Newsername · 05/03/2019 21:22

We don’t have time to put the TV on in the morning! It’s like military boot camp in our house: Wash face. Brush teeth. Get dressed. Breakfast. Pack your bag. OUT!!

HopeIsNotAStrategy · 05/03/2019 21:22

I turned on BBC breakfast specifically to check the time this morning (only news they are useful for nowadays), and was thoroughly outraged that they weren’t showing the clock.

No you are NBU! 😄

starzig · 05/03/2019 21:27

Is am actually with flymaybe (1st response). I'm always rubbish at getting up and only leave enough time for quick wash, teeth and throw some clothes on (even at that, I am still usually late).

Redboxyellowbox · 05/03/2019 21:28

Well, I should clarify that this was yesterday morning. I don’t think our TV had been paused so it wasn’t that. I came downstairs when I heard DD shout that she had to run as the time was wrong Confused because she’d looked at her phone and realised the time on the BBC clock was incorrect.
—awaits backlash for DD being allowed to use a PHONE in the morning before school—

I left myself for work 10 minutes later and it was still incorrect. No apology, no explanation....BBC you need to pull your finger out!

Strike through fail!

If they kids aren’t watching it, we’ve left it on for the dogs
When my OH used to leave his giant rabbit here when he went to visit his parents in Manchester, he used to tell me to leave the tv on for her. We went out one day and when we came back, she was lying stretched out on the sofa watching Homes Under the Hammer....

Amused at all the outrage here - I only commented because no one else had after a day and a half!

I only don't have my telly on in the morning because I don't have time - I can just about cope with getting showered, dressed and out to work.

Although my own preference is for BBCR4 Today programme (they get the time wrong sometimes too), there's no nose-in-the-air judgement here. Am full of admiration for people who can get their act together so early Smile

kateandme · 05/03/2019 21:44

my gran was having a particularly bad time one an even left the tv on for the house so it would be talking to her as soon as she got back in the door!

FlyMayBe · 05/03/2019 21:45

Typical ridiculous first response!! I might have known the holier than thou would be out in force.

Errrrrr - nope. Wish I'd not bothered commenting tbh OP. Hope you enjoyed finally getting a response to your thread.

Joebloggswazere · 05/03/2019 21:51

So, apparently the tv has an off switch now? Huh, that’s new....

NotBeforeCoffee · 05/03/2019 22:05

My kids get up at like 6 or 6.30 we don't need to leave until 8.40 what the fuck would we do for over 2 hours without milkshake or cbeebies on?

I thought you were saying you give your kids milkshakes before school😂

I was looking for the outraged responses before realising

Joebloggswazere · 05/03/2019 22:07

Tv and milkshake!! Fan me down!!

notacooldad · 05/03/2019 22:11

You have your TV on in the mornings before school??
This was my first thought!
🤣🤣🤣
We never have it on. Not for any reason other than I like Planet Rock on the radio!
We didn't have it on when the kids were small because they would have been distracted!

formerbabe · 05/03/2019 22:15

I let my dc eat their breakfast whilst watching tv and sitting on the sofa...I'll hang my head in shame!

MotivationSuchAnAggrivation · 05/03/2019 22:20

My 18 month old walks into the living room of a morning, points at the tv and says “Peppa eeg” then sits on her little chair awaiting her cup of milk.

Every. Single. Morning.
