Easiest & cheapest way to watch TV without aerial?

I’d like to put a Tv in our kitchen/family room but there’s no aerial. It would be fine if we could only access on demand service over the internet. I’d like a screen bigger than a lap top or iPad. Would really appreciate advice on the options. Not very well up on plug in things like amazon fire.
Would another option be accessing it on my phone then projecting onto a monitor using a cable?
I guess a smart TV would also work but they are £££, I think we have a spare computer monitor somewhere.
Or is there some sort of box that doesn’t need an aerial?

It depends what you would like to watch. you can get a freeview box like this and then a indoor ariel like this you should be able to get all the freeview channels x

Depending on the location of your transmitter, an indoor aeriel on the window sill may or may not do the trick.

Another possibility is a long extension lead.

If you want all the free streams (iplayer, ITV Hub, All4, Demand 5 etc) best bet is a NOW TV or Roku box. You don't need to bother with any of the vouchers for Sky services. You can get second-hand NOW TV or Roku pucks in CEX for a few quid.

For sending from your phone, get a Chromecast.

We had this problem, we used a Chromecast.

Ok thanks.
Would a now box work with a computer monitor? Or would it have to be an actual tv?
Will look at chrome cast too.

Firestick is easy to use and cheap (£40). We use it on our main TV and watch Iplayer, itv hub, prime, netflix etc. You need a TV with an HDMI slot to plug it in. It is also alexa voice activated which would be useful when you are cooking,

Your computer monitor might have an HDMI slot

No luck with an indoor aerial? (Sometimes they don't get a good enough signal).

Otherwise I'd say Chromecast if you want to control it from your Android phone, or Fire TV stick if you want something with its own remote control.

These gadgets send both picture and sound over HDMI, so a PC monitor won't be much good unless it's got built-in speakers or a socket to connect some.

Don’t think indoor aerial would work - I’m not actually sure there is an aerial on the roof even (if that’s relevant!) for our main tv we use the previous owner’s satellite dish and have a tv with freesat built in.
We’d be absolutely fine just able to watch internet tv so on demand, live bbc through iPlayer I think. Not too fussed about live tv.
