Not too loud or busy, but not too remote or quiet. I've been googling for days now and reading trip advisor and going round in circles.

Just me and DH this year for the first time in years …. teens doing their own thing. Budget prob max of £1.5K for a week or 10 days, as it's only B&B - hopefully less!! But I do want a nice hotel. Early July, so not in school hols.

You'll need to specify location! I know you're not in Scotland as we're on school holidays in early July, but that leaves a lot of places.

Smileanywhere in Europe really, not long haul.

Nerja in Southern Spain. It's delightful.

We went with British Airways - booked one of their flight and hotel combos. There's a 3 one on there now for £434 B&B for a week at the beginning of July and a 4 one for £846 per person B&B.

But I'm sure the holiday big boys will have breaks there as well.

Carbis Bay Hotel near St Ives is lovely.

And Gara Rock near Salcombe is gorgeous. Lots of coastal walks, and lots to do locally.

I'd agree with the PP about Nerja, we loved it there. And Puerto Pollensa in Majorca is lovely.

Agree with Nerja, gorgeous.

Normandy beaches (not the DD ones, the other side of Caan up to Le Havre)

Cabourg, Houlgate, Villiers Sur Mer, Deauville, Trouville and of course Honfleur for the harbour.

Gorgeous sweeping sandy beaches and easy to get to on the ferry.
1920's glamour and lots of history.

*D Day sorry

Rye in East Sussex? Lots of gorgeous B&Bs and antiques shops and stuff. It's a cinque port. Very pretty. Not far from London though. Maybe you want to go further afield?

San Sebastián in northern Spain. Lovely beach, nice hotels, famous in Spain for its gastronomy. I had the world’s most amazing fish soup there. You can get the Eurostar to Paris then train down through Bordeaux and Biarritz.
