Changing dd’s nippy and noticed these spots on her chest and arm. Don’t fade when I put a glass to them but do look like the spots arounde her mouth ( milk spots?) She hasnt a temperature and is bright and smiling. A bit sweaty but we e been playing a lot. Should I be worried? She is 13 weeks.

Maybe a slight heat rash I don't know, I wouldn't be worried if she's fine in herself..

Thank you, had her in a sling and she’s a bit of a sweaty girl, don’t want to waste resources but NHs online says A&E if bumps don’t fade under glass, was thinking it might be heat ?

With a baby that young I’d call 111 and just ask them! You won’t be wasting anyone’s time.

Haworthia · 28/02/2019 20:05

111 is completely unnecessary.

Is she otherwise well? Eating, drinking, no fever? If so, don’t worry about it but keep an eye on it.

Bigonesmallone3 · 28/02/2019 20:07

111 will advise u to go to a&e because of baby's age..

In my opinion completely unnecessary to call them!

Thank you, yes My mummy sense tells me it’s not something dangerous as she’s quite happy and bright and hate to waste anyone’s time when others are in need...but I am a new mum and not sure when to worry or if I can trust myself . Looked at pictures of meningitis rash on line and seems like that would be more read and spread Out and dd would be feeling unwell, dry nappies, fussy. Only had her usual wee fuss before bedtime but nursing well.

It doesn't look like sepsis/meningitis rash. DS2 seems to get a lot of random red spots on his body, we were in hospital for a week after he was born so I pointed them out to the nurses and they weren't bothered. I think they are just small blocked pores/hormone related. It's weird because I don't remember DS1 getting them and certainly not all over, maybe some on his face.

Do you have a weighing clinic, perhaps you can show them to HV?

FloatingthroughSpace · 28/02/2019 20:32

Attaching photos of actual concerning non blanching rash, so you can compare. This rash is petechial and is the danger red flag rash, though fortunately for us it wasn't meningitis.

Call 111. Not because I think there is anything at all wrong with your baby but for peace of mind, talk to the professionals. We’re lucky enough to have the service, use it. Your baby will be fine I’m sure.

youaremyrain · 28/02/2019 20:53

I thought that with meningitis the red rash came at quite an advanced stage?
