I still think this new series may imply Ted is H
It feels like a shark jump if they do though

JessMariano · 01/03/2019 10:11

I will not be able to cope if Ted is bent.

Omg yes, Ted for sorting out the backstop! At least he’d have more of an understanding of the issues than most our politicians seem to have.

I have heard that Dot is still alive.....

BartonHollow · 01/03/2019 16:58

Oh I'll be pissed off if they bring back Neil Morrissey OR Dot - they've been done to death

BumboBaggins · 01/03/2019 17:14

Never have I felt more at home in a thread. OP I salute you. Can’t wait for the new series (and I will be playing Ted Hastings Bingo with his most common catchphrases).

JessMariano · 01/03/2019 18:47

Bumbo

This is my favourite LOD bingo, though I think there’s a few about.

That bingo is brilliant, fella

BartonHollow · 01/03/2019 19:39

The bingo 😂

Esp. I made vows

beanaseireann · 01/03/2019 20:12

Looking forward to the new Line of Futy but I've only seen the last series.Sad
I watched Adrian Dunbar's Who Do You Think You Are on RTE 1
Interesting.

Whatififall · 01/03/2019 20:17

My officers conduct themselves to the letter of the law, sir. THE LETTER.

I love LoD and Hastings. I’ll actually be devastated if he turns out to be H. I don’t think I’d cope.

BartonHollow · 01/03/2019 20:20

He's just the perfect officer isn't he?

Which makes such a twist more likely

JessMariano · 01/03/2019 21:08

I knowww, although hopefully we will just have lots of interrogation scenes and then he’ll prove his innocence.

Steve: Are you a bent copper, Superintendent Hastings?
Ted: Mother of God!
Steve: Is that a yes or a no sir?
Ted: Yer a wee gobshite Steven.
Steve: For the benefit of the DIR, Supt Hastings is shaking his head.

This is the best thread on mumsnet ever

JessMariano · 01/03/2019 22:01

Not forgetting of course that Supt Hastings has the right to be questioned by an officer one rank senior Grin

OP posts:
BartonHollow · 01/03/2019 22:37

Who would be his senior in show terms?

The other possible H has gone

Thisaintphaedra · 01/03/2019 22:43

Can’t wait for new series. Hope he dials up the Iain Paisley Grin

Lungelady · 01/03/2019 22:45

He can call me a wee witch anytime.

BitOfFun · 01/03/2019 22:49

What doesn't Ted like?

sackrifice · 01/03/2019 22:51

Aah, Ted.

BartonHollow · 01/03/2019 23:01

Adrian Dunbar for fan reference is in the background of several scenes in North And South - a cracking cast

Your one from Eastenders
That fella all the women have eyes for
Your woman from motherland
And that fella out of Downton

DareDevil223 · 01/03/2019 23:19

You're not wrong fella, I bloody love Ted Hastings. If he turns out to be bent I will wail and rend my garments Grin

I can't wait to see him and Kate and Wee Stevie back on my telly box.

JessMariano · 02/03/2019 09:01

Adrian Dunbar saying now we’re sucking on diesel! Grin

squashyhat · 02/03/2019 09:13

He's the Fred Thursday of his generation. Go Ted! (and Fred)

beanaseireann · 02/03/2019 09:13

"Now we're suckin diesel."
It's a common enough expression in Ireland Smile
It's the way he says it. Love it.
