I can eat this stuff if I freeze it/,cook it, can't I? (Pregnant)

I'm 12 weeks pregnant and I may have been a bit daft. I bought a french saucisson sec in Sainsbury's last week as it was 74p down from £3.50. The same day I sliced it thinly and froze it. I seem to remember something about being able to eat cured meats if they are frozen for a few days, or cooked thoroughly.

So if I defrost a few slices every now and then that's fine isn't it? Or if I put some on a pizza and cook through?

I also got a cheeseboard selection heavily reduced. The hard cheese, no issues there. I ate some of the goats cheese (rinded) before realising I probably shouldn't have. There's also some brie and stilton.

If I freeze the cheeses will it still kill any potential listeria or do I have to cook those through (and presumably cook really well not just let it go a bit melty)? Or do I have to just pop it all in the freezer until September and stick to cheddar?

Third pregnancy (second one ended in mmc) so you would think I would know this stuff but apparently not!

Yes freeze for 4 days or cook first, from www.nhs.uk/conditions/pregnancy-and-baby/foods-to-avoid-pregnant/#meat

^Be cautious with cold cured meats in pregnancy
Many cold meats, such as salami, prosciutto, chorizo and pepperoni, are not cooked, they're just cured and fermented. This means there's a risk they contain toxoplasmosis-causing parasites.
It's best to check the instructions on the pack to see whether the product is ready to eat or needs cooking first.
For ready-to-eat meats, you can reduce any risk from parasites by freezing cured or fermented meats for 4 days at home before you eat them. Freezing kills most parasites and makes the meat safer to eat.
If you're planning to cook the meat – for instance, pepperoni on pizza – you don't need to freeze it first.
If you're eating out in a restaurant that sells cold cured or fermented meats, they may not have been frozen. If you're concerned, ask the staff or avoid eating it.^

Thanks - looks like the salami will be ok to have a nibble on when I fancy it.

Any opinions on the cheeses anyone? Does freezing kill listeria or is it cooking alone that will do that?

Stilton is fine to eat. The other cheeses are fine if you cook them. Freezing doesn’t help.

Thanks, am surprised by stilton, especially as this one's pretty pungent. Looks like it's baked brie & goats cheese for dinner one day soon...
