Dying in bed with flu OH had to go to work because it's only him and his uncle running the business now.

My head is banging can't stop sneezing I'm probably covered in germs. I feel bad for the kids their crying and want to get up but I can't function.

What do I do ☹️☹️

Struggle through. Let the DC watch endless amounts of shit telly. Dose yourself with the largest amount of painkillers you possibly can take and keep topping up every four hours. You will feel deathly, but you won't die.

I feel for you OP. I had flu followed by a chest infection. I'm on my own all week as DH is military and posted away just now. I had help from some friends doing school run for me, and I sent the kids to the childminder too. They lived on beans and toast and yoghurt, the TV and playstation were my babysitter. A few days like that won't kill them, don't worry. Just meet basic needs and leave it at that. Make sure they are fed, clean and safe - that's all x

That’s rough when they’re so young. Poor you. As others said TV for them, rest for you Flowers

You do what you have to do to get through the next couple of days.

Order the shopping in.
Order takeaway / let them eat toast etc. It won't hurt them for a couple of days.
Let them watch cbeebies / ipads etc.

Errr...how about getting the flu vaccination next year OP? I'm always amazed by the number of people that don't do this. We get the jab every year and there's no one to come take care of us if we are laid up. Take paracetamol, get to bed early, drink lots of water and order take out for a night or two and use the TV babysitter - get well soon and come October get the jab. A few moments discomfort far better than days of the sweating shakes, right?! 💐

I hope you are feeling better soon OP.

I think it is best to keep some stocks of food in the house though- if a child is unwell you may not be able to get to shops- it's always best to keep in some supplies for emergencies.
Even if you have no freezer then keeing things like pasta, pasta sauce, beans, cereal, tuna, noodles, crackers, rice cakes, canned fruit etc will keep you fed for a couple of days in an emergency.
