What's the movie equivalent of a hug?

I need one. I have a severe cold and I'm so sore and weak I can barely move and my mental health has crashed. (Small violin playing in the distance)

Yesterday I lay on the couch and watched all of Gandhi and today I'd like something easy or gentle to watch that doesn't require me to try to remember fifty plot points and relationships. Any suggestions would be appreciated. TIA

The Notebook. Then you can cry your cold out!

Hope you feel better soon.

The Devil Wears Prada has always been a feel good movie to cheer me up when I'm poorly.

"A little chaos" with Kate Winslet. I liked it so much when I first saw it I watched it the next week too.
It's really gentle but good.

Christ, who way to these suggestions!

Disney and Pixar all the way here. Musicals, fluffiness, song, childish happiness without the adult expectations. Lush.

Frozen, Moana, Toy Story, that sort of thing.

Agree with kids’ films. I recommend Bill, every time I watch it with the dc I giggle at something new.

SoSaidTheHorse · 25/02/2019 12:26

Thank you for all the suggestions so far. I love dramas and these aren't ones that I've seen, though right now I'll watch anything vaguely comforting.

NC Fail. My brain has officially left the building. I'm looking forward to burying myself in these films though, perhaps that will revive me a little.

My feel good film is actually a Christmas one but I don't care I will watch it anytime.

It's The Bishops Wife with the lovely Cary Grant and David Niven.

Why all the sad films, surely you need something happier? Would Gavin and Stacey episodes do the job? Or the office?

Princess Bride

Mine is Room with a view or if I'm really ill the whole of Pride and prejudice (Colin firth version obviously).

When I was ill recently I watched Dumplin on Netflix. I do a great Dolly impression when I'm croaky (and there's no one around to hear me!)
