TMI ALERT

So we had a condom failure a few days ago. It slipped off inside me, after dh had come. Didn't even know that could happen ShockBlush

And some cum did come out because as I was wiping afterwards it was sticky, not like normal.

According to my period tracking app, it's the day I'm most likely to have ovulated.....I'm in my early 40s, anyone know the chances of being pg? Please tell me it will all be ok and there's virtually no chance

There are no known affects on the baby if you are pregnant and take MAP.

No one was fussed when I said I'd taken 2 close together when I met Midwifes or my GP.

If sperm is inside you when you ovulate you could get pregnant simple as. Less likely in your 40’s but still happens (14 weeks with proof of that myself)

Guess if it’s too late for the morning after etc it’s going to be a case of waiting and seeing

ABitPeteTong · 24/02/2019 21:08

Sparky I should have done that when I had my Cs with dc2.

Dh would like dc of his own, so is in two minds. He'd back whatever I decide though.

Part of me likes the idea of having a dc with dh. But I also remember what a slog pg and the early years can be. And I'm really enjoying my dc being a bit older and able to amuse themselves, so I can have time and space to myself.

I'm pro choice too when I took MAP I thought if I did get pregnant I could have an early abortion but when I found I was it didn't seem like an option for me anymore, I really didn't want to be pregnant but I didn't want to terminate.

ABitPeteTong · 24/02/2019 21:10

What happens with the MAP? Does it take long to take effect? Do you just get an early period?

A quick google gives the probability of getting pregnant at 42 if ttcing as 9% per cycle. Presumably that is for people trying quite hard as well! So no condom blocking some of the sperm and more than one shag!

So chances are “less than 9%” but I have no idea how much less.

ilovepixie · 24/02/2019 21:20

Did you get the condom out?

ABitPeteTong · 24/02/2019 21:24

Yes we did get the condom out. It took a bit of doing though. We're not quite sure how it came off.

Thanks for the MAP link. It was Friday but technically only 48 hours ago so within 72 hours if I take it tomorrow.

I'm off to look at that link and have a think and a chat with dh

@Mumoftwoyoungkids I am 42 so I was obviously just very "lucky"😂😂😂😂

Karigan195 · 24/02/2019 22:12

I know a ton of people pregnant in their 40s lol. Really wouldn’t rely on age 😂😂😂😂

ABitPeteTong · 24/02/2019 22:20

Lots? 😳😱

OP any update?

ABitPeteTong · 10/03/2019 09:11

I'm not pg!

Although both dh and I felt a bit sad at that, which surprised both of us.
