If your child is at a playdate or sleepover

Would you expect the host parent to return him/her or assume that you would do it yourself? My son's friend has come round for a rare sleepover. I invited him for 4pm. When she dropped him off his Mum asked what time she should collect him. When I said "11" she repeated it in a surprised way as though it was too early. She then asked if she was to collect or if I was returning him. When I told her that she could pick him up she joked that I was "lazy". I do feel a bit out out. I think 4 pm until 11 am is plenty of time. I would always assume that it was my job to collect my child from a visit. If the other parent offered to return him I would be grateful but never expect it.

I’ve got a sleepover tonight. 4pm drop, 11am either collect or drop by us, as we may be going out and going that way anyway. To be fair (10yo DD) I’ve barely seen them other than to feed and apart from tolerating Greatest Showman soundtrack on loop so it’s no aggro for me at all. May be a different case at 11pm!

I always drop off and collect when my children are at a sleepover unless the host parents are going out and offer to drop my dc off on their way through to where they’re going.
Sleepovers at our house tend to last until mid afternoon, generally because they’re teens and so stay up late and waking up late. Also, they’re more self sufficient and so if we don’t have activities planned, will amuse themselves and occupy themselves.
Sleepovers now are far less hassle than when they were younger!!

11am seems fine. Otherwise you will have to sort out lunch for them too. She's a CF

Parents drop off & collect here.

The parent always collects in my experience. And 11am is pretty standard for collection here. She sounds very rude!
