So I'm hairy very, very hairy and also very embarrassed about it.
I wanted to go for a wax as it's starting to get me down, however I'm worried that I'll be laughed at or spoken about When leave.

So what would you suggest I do before hand to make it easier for both myself and the beautician doing the waxing?

Hey - I'm no beautician however the people who wax you should be professionals - look for well reviewed salons and make the appointment in person so you can get a feel for the vibe you're after. I can promise you, they will have seen worse and after 10 waxes a day x 5 days per week, are you really that special that they will care about your hair (that you're paying them to remove in a professional setting)? Honestly, bite the bullet and do what makes you feel good. Wine

Hey,
I'm super hairy too Grinand have waxed for years! Hair no longer comes back like it did!
What are you referring to here? ... Lady garden? Arms? Lower back? ... Find a salon and stick to it! By your 2nd or 3rd time it'll be nothing. I always preferred the mature therapist. They've seen it all and I feel more comfortable with them. Hope this helps!

It's mostly my "lady garden" 😂 legs and belly that need de-fuzzing, I've always shaved or used hair removal cream, but it seems to be coming back with avengeance.

I don't even really know where this year comes from.

I was exactly the same because I'm mixed ethnicity and have dark thick hair! ... I frequently get Brazilian waxes now, when I first started I used to do a 4 hour round trip to have it done Confused as I was so embarrassed at the thought of going local, but I then found a mature lady local to me and I've been with her ever since ... Believe me, they've seen it all. Just go in there relaxed and make a bit of a joke about how hairy you are if it makes you feel better and stick to the same Therapist and after a few waxes it won't be daunting at all Smile

Honestly there is no need to be embarrassed, therapists have seen it all before even with a young beautician who will have trained to wax all manner of hairy bodies.

I usually give my hair a bit of a trim before a bikini wax if I haven't been for a while. They can't wax them when they are too long - but they will trim them for you if they need to! Other than than I would just freshen up a bit before the appointment!

Fluffycloudland77 · 24/02/2019 08:19

Why don’t you get it layered off?

LostInShoebiz · 24/02/2019 09:02

Let them know you’ll need a full appointment as you’re new to waxing. That should tip them off that there could be a lot of hair.

LostInShoebiz · 24/02/2019 09:04

Also, no one will laugh or speak about you. They are literally a business set up to wax hairy bodies so the more hairiness the better for them. If you’re really concerned, go to specialist waxer rather than a back room in a hair salon, a waxing specialist will be better, quicker and will have seen everything.
