What do you do for a living?

How do you afford childcare?

Not a rant just curious, I work part time and want to go back to work full time.

Part time accountant with unpaid leave for school holidays if needed. No family locally and dh works away. I use breakfast club only and finish in time to pick up from school term time.

Four children, returned to work as a management consultant when youngest was 4. Initially had an au pair and used holiday clubs, with a little help from grandparents during summer hols. Work from home one day a week. Still tough - up at 5am and do two loads of laundry before 7am, when I leave. Spend most weekends preparing for the week ahead - lists for cleaner, planning meals etc. However I love my job, so wouldn't change it.

I work job share in senior local government. Dh is a senior civil servant working compressed hours. We have a nanny one after school a week, nursery, breakfast club and favours from friends which we repay in kind. We mostly middle along although both work environments are supportive and rate us. No free childcare from parents etc but the nanny helps in a pinch too (she used to do 3 days so they are her babies a bit too)

I have 3. Both DH and I work full time. I work in a university HR dept and DH is a process manager for a small maufacturer. Both of us work regular 9-5.30 hours and fortuñately have small commutes. We have always paid for childcare, nursery then after school club. Nursery was a fortune, asc not so bad now.
