WTF has bitten my son? Tick?

Bathing my 3yo and I’ve noticed this on his leg.

We’ve been out in a garden/park/woodland place today. Could it be a tick?

Doesn't look like a tick in the middle (it would usually still be attached). Dab of antihistamine cream and a relaxed trip to the pharmacist tomorrow to make certain.

Ticks don't always stay attached. Lyme doesn't always leave the ring rash. It is common and you often only get symptoms of Lyme if it's not treated quickly. No-one is feeding fears just stating facts to counteract the false info already posted. Someone else might need it in future.

I personally would go to GP to rule out a tick bite. No harm in doing that and not worth risking it imo.

No need to get overly worried about it until you know what it is though. It's could as equally be nothing at all. A big fly or a mosquito. I would check though.

And stop googling possibilities. Flowers You'll get yourself tied up with worry when there's probably no need.

The gp won't be able to tell if it was a tick bite or not.

Watch out for signs of aching, fever, tiredness.

I also think it's a spider bite. I had a similar one on my leg. I think i took antihistamines, monitored whether it increased in size (with a pen) and it shrank. Poor mite! I wouldn't wake him.

Sorry posted nonsense as I was jumping threads.

For all those saying it's a bite just AH it and carry on regardless - my husband followed this advice and got a massive bollocking from an out of hrs GP that saw him with a badly infected arm. He was told if AHs don't reduce the redness and it's more than 2cm diameter and spreading he must see a Dr.

Please get an appointment to have it checked. If it just needs a stronger or oral AH so be it.

Snow leopard?

Though it has been mild of late so I have not seen so many about.

Thanks all.

Talked to a pharmacist today - she seemed totally uninterested and sold us some AH. It’s no worse, no better, and he seems fine.
