Anyone else short of squirrels?

We've lived here many years, SW London, always had loads of squirrels, but for the last few months I haven't seen one, not even our little regular with the missing tail. The nut feeders remain full, just a few birds having a peck. I'm really missing them, is anyone else experiencing similar, is there a problem?

We have a large contingent of tree rats around us (East Midlands) - enough to drive DDog mad trying to keep them all out of the garden. They've also dug up loads of bulbs (grumble).
