How to deal with awkward situation witih lodger

I have a lovely lodger, we get on well.
She has her boyfriend to stay one night a week or so which I don’t mind, he’s very nice, they made a quick meal today and he’s completely cleaned the kitchen to a level that Mrs Hinch would be proud of...and he doesn’t take the piss with long showers/heating etc.
However every time he stays they end up having errr quite a noisy session often quite late at night. One occasion waking me up at 2 in the morning and going on for an hour when I had work the next day.

I need to say something but not sure how to deal with it sensitively.
But I also worry if I try and turn a blind eye to it I will just snap about it one day.

Please help a very prudish Scott Blush

Think I would try earplugs or a white noise machine. Or both!

‘Could you keep the noise down late at night, please? I’ve been woken up a couple of times at 2am and find it hard to get back to sleep when I’ve been disturbed.’

They’ll know what you’re talking about.

A loud round of applause as they finis should help them take the hint.

I’m a bit jealous that he is good in the kitchen and the bedroom tbh Grin

Have you got neighbours who might also be hearing this? Disguise your handwriting, write (or even better type) a note and leave it on the doormat.
But I am a coward so maybe don't listen to me!

Mighty I can hear the nighbours rattling around so they probably can hear it. Blush hadn’t thought of that and they have very young children too

I would leave a note under her door explaining the situation, if you can't bare face to face confrontation. But really its your house shouldn't be made to feel uncomfy no matter how well you get on.

I wouldn't allow anyone to make me uncomfortable in my own house like that! Even if it was an equal houseshare I'd still discuss the volume. I'd never take the piss and let everyone hear me like that anyway.

I'd Facebook message personally because I can't deal with awkward situations at all.
