Is there any medical person who can give me advice

I know people can't diagnose me over the internet but just need some advice.

I am 10 years post op from an hysterectomy due to cancer. For just over a week now I've had the worst pains which feel like period pains. (I've had 3 and half days off last week and again today) went to waknin centre last Wednesday and he said I needed to go a&e didn't examine me or anything. Went a&e who diagnosed a water infection and sent me home with antibiotics. Have 3 tablets left and the pain is so bad again and got sent home from work after an hour. Have tried my own gp and got told no appointments and call back tomorrow morning.

Is it anything to be worried about? Is it worth going back to walk on centre even though they wouldn't be able to organise scans or anything. Even though the pain is bad and I've just been sleeping or sitting on the sofa today I don't think it's an a&e visit as there is people a lot worst then me.

Any advice??

Did you have a total hysterectomy?

LeekMunchingSheepShagger · 18/02/2019 19:13

Going to a&e is perfectly reasonable with acute unexplained abdominal pain op...I would go Flowers

FunkyBarnYardBroom · 18/02/2019 19:15

Go to A&E I had similar and did just that.

Saw OOH and my GP could stand up but neither. GP ordered ultrasound and that was all.

Presented at A&E who weren't impressed with GP.

Never did have the ultrasound. Everything but it felt after admission

Hope you're on the mend soon

Yes had everything out as the cancer spread to ovaries.

I don't want to waste time as much as I'm in pain it's not life threatening and it's been going on for over a week. The local hospital is so over stretched and often has car crash victims due to location so don't want to take time off someone who is in need of life threatening illness.

I had a small amount of ovarian tissue left over. I developed an ovarian cyst.

Was totally discounted by the GP as I'd had everything out.

Worth getting it looked at for sure.

I am 10 years post op in April.

It just feels like period pains but I know it can't be possible.

The pain is really low down, going in to my groin and pain underneath.

I was 7 years post op when mine became unbearable.

Thatsnotmyotter · 18/02/2019 19:24

Go to A&E OP. They won’t not see an urgent case because you’re there! If an emergency happens, you’ll just wait a bi longer. Unexplained abdominal pain, especially if you were given antibiotics and they haven’t made a difference, should be investigated.

Butterflycookie · 18/02/2019 19:28

Got to a&e!!

Alliwantisthisorthat · 18/02/2019 19:46

I am on phone to 111 now and will see what they say.

I just don't want to waste doctors time if it is just a water infection. Bit silly going a&e with that.

HollowTalk · 18/02/2019 19:49

I hope everything's okay. I'm really glad you're phoning 111.

begon · 18/02/2019 19:53

I would go and see the gp and get the ruined test results. The sample may have grown something ant the antibiotics might not be the right ones.

Alliwantisthisorthat · 18/02/2019 20:13

Been told to see gp within 24 hours and they said they will send a note over to the surgery to say I've been assessed by them and I need to be seen.

FunkyBarnYardBroom · 19/02/2019 17:09

How you feeling today?

PtahNeith · 19/02/2019 17:32

You don't know it's not life threatening if you don't know what it is.

Could be adhesions from your surgery. And if it is, and they're wrapping around your bowel or bladder in your pelvis, that is not good...

Alliwantisthisorthat · 19/02/2019 22:30

Thank you for asking Funky. Ended up going to a walk in centre early hours this morning who referred me to a&e. Have got the pain under control but have been admitted for further tests.

FunkyBarnYardBroom · 19/02/2019 22:40

Glad you're getting sorted.

As a PP mentioned it could be adhesions. Abdominal surgery can be so damaging.

Best of luck. Let us know how you get on.

FunkyBarnYardBroom · 20/02/2019 17:26

Any news? Are you still in?

Alliwantisthisorthat · 21/02/2019 22:18

Thank you for asking Funky

My bladder had collapsed. They think it was some kind of injury from lifting something or a knock. I crashed my car in Oct so they are asking it's possibly this but it wasn't a big enough impact to collapse straight away,

I had surgery yesterday and I need a catheter for the 3 weeks and then have a scan to see if anything is ok.

FunkyBarnYardBroom · 22/02/2019 13:39

Holy moly!!!

So glad you got seen. All the best for a swift recovery x

NicoAndTheNiners · 22/02/2019 13:47

Wow, I never knew that could happen. Not surprised you were in so much pain. Were you managing to wee ok?

FunkyBarnYardBroom · 01/03/2019 14:28

How you feeling? Hope you're on the mend

FunkyBarnYardBroom · 17/03/2019 20:56

Hope all is well
