Dunno. Throw it something to catch. If it merrily retrieves it, it's a dog. If it stares at you with such utter contempt you question your entire self worth and purpose in life, it's a cat.

As someone mentioned on page 1, it's probably supposed to be a plushie of Grumpy Cat, the famous feline internet celebrity - but changed just enough to avoid having to be licensed, like a Rolax watch purchased on holiday

Whether it is a cat or a dog is not as important as knowing if OP intends to get it neutered or not.
