How can I improve my immune system?

Since having dc and being permanently sleep deprived I seem to get ill constantly. I've had a permanent cold since October now along with a few sickness bugs etc that have been brought home from nursery.

I've started working evenings now too and I'm reaching new levels of feeling shit.

My diet could be better. I'm definitely going to add a couple more portions of veg but it's not awful.

I take a multivitamin too.

Any tips on how to improve things?

I'd speak to a gp first. Could be anaemia, especially if your diet is poor.

Local honey can help a bit with immunity . Rather than vitamin pills, Eating veg and fruit high in vitamin c can help - did you know swede is actually high in vit C. And cheap at the moment. Which is a great excuse to eat it mashed with loads of butter in my view GrinOr chopped into chunks in a soup.
Brown rice and poultry thigh meat is good for adding B12 to your diet which helps you get energy out of your food better- you can usually get turkey mince and the brown meat is generally cheaper. Make as a chilli or whatever you prefer.
I have MS and lots of energy/immunity challenges. These are the sorts of things I do.

Improving your gut mictrobiome diversity (the microbes that live and on us all the time) is a good way to promote overall health. So eating lots pro and prebitotic foods like fermented foods, live dairy, leeks, onions and garlic and high fibre foods which act as good food for the microbes. The stuff we’re learning in microbe science is pretty revolutionary.

Take vitamin c on its own , the vitamin c in a multi vitamin isn't enough ..
I get the soluble ones in a drink and sometimes drink two if I feel a bit under the weather ( I am fine but I have a friend who is immune compromised so don't want to share germs )

There’s little research to suggest taking vitamin c when you’re ill has any effect, it’s a placebo. Vitamin C can help maintain your immune system, as does a generally good diet and care for wellbeing, but it doesn’t work like a medicine that you can apply to illness
