Pom Bears was something to do with a dinner party but I can't remember the details.

gamerchick · 17/02/2019 09:33

The pom bears and cutted up pear are funny even when reread.

The Korean lady, penis beaker and bloody snapped and farted are really really not even first time around.

Penis beaker broke mumsnet. Talk about cringe.

ElspethFlashman · 17/02/2019 09:37

Cutted up pear was funny. For the first page.

Korean lady was utter balls. Fat ball was shite, those things are inedible.

Pom bears was the most incomprehensibly Little England thing I have ever read. That definitely never happened.

BettyUnderswoob · 17/02/2019 09:50

Massive Phew! I thought I was the only one who thought Mexican house thief was a load of bollocks. There were several things about it which were completely unbelievable.
Never expressed this before, as I thought I’d be lynched by the posters who seem to think this was the best thing in the history of ever!

Most of the long saga type classics (Pom bears, elderly Korean lady etc.) leave me bewildered; it’s the examples of mistakes at work, cheeky fuckery, embarrassing moments etc. with lots of contributors that I find funny.

And yes, OP, it’s silly when people try to prove their worthiness to post by quoting these threads. Every member, new or old, is perfectly entitled to post.

gamerchick · 17/02/2019 09:51

I don't think any of them happen. They're all made up bollocks Grin

Meet0nTheledge · 17/02/2019 09:54

I read snapoed and farted recently too, wasn't even remotely funny. Neither was penis beaker. Never read Korean lady. My favourite classic was pouffe and poo.

HesterLee · 17/02/2019 09:56

Some of the classics start off being a bit funny but then they go on for too long with the OP starting to embellish the tale to the point it becomes unbelievable.
The simple threads that are unintentionally funny are the best I think. My favourite ever was by a poster called Chaos who's phone kept repeating her posts - her frustration really did make me laugh out loud.

Sparklingbrook · 17/02/2019 10:17

There's an element of the OP not wanting to disappoint the audience once it all gets going. So they write what they think posters want to hear whether that's actually what happened is up for debate.

Santasballsack · 17/02/2019 10:23

My favourite thread in classics is the teachers perk of the job thread. I read it whilst stuck in poorly and it cheered me up thoroughly. Penis beaker is something of a divider on here, it either makes you laugh or sneer apparently.

badtime · 17/02/2019 10:25

To be fair, Mexican house thief was just a single post, not a 10-thread saga of increasing cheeky-fuckery, so even if it's bollocks I don't think it deserves to be lumped in with the rest.

GrimDamnFanjo · 17/02/2019 10:25

Mexican house thieves is my personal favourite.
Penis beaker reached its peak when iirc ikea named a beaker for it...

Mumsnet hasn't been the same since.
