Right I'm going to do it. Ive been thinking about it for a long time and I think I should make the switch. I'm anxious though.
How do you know what size you are? How do you know when it's full? My periods are really quite light (1 heavier day) and only last 2-3 days. I have forgotten a tampon before so I have no doubt I'd forget to take my cup out.... I usually use pads as I can't forget them.
I live on quite a tight budget so I can't buy several sizes if you know what I mean... Help?

Get what size applies to you on the box and persevere. You'll do fine Smile

One size is for people who have given birth vaginally, the other size is for those who haven't. I've had mine for years and use it occasionally if my period is lighter or I'm not going anywhere where it might fill. Also I avoid long walks/hiking if I'm using a mooncup because ime they have a way of making their presence known iyswim

Have a look at other brands.
A quiz like this might give you some ideas about what to look at.

I bought a mooncup as per the size guidance, there are only two sizes for that brand.
You don't wait until it's full, it holds quite a lot, just empty when convenient (don't leave more than about 8 hours though). I used a panty liner while getting used to it, I've had a little leak after a heavy overnight but not during the day. I empty mine every 4 hours during waking time on the first couple of heavy days, and my periods are pretty heavy (I'd go through a tampon in 2). On the last couple of lighter days I empty 8-hourly.
I snipped the stem gradually over the first day of wearing, so as not to cut it too short - a couple of mm at a time. You'll get a bit of blood on your hands at first, but after a couple of cycles I've got the knack of removing it pretty much mess-free. I rinse it if at home, but at work I just tip out the contents and pop it back in.
At the end of each cycle I wash it and then boil in a pan to sterilise.

I stopped using mine can he difficult to get in and out and messy. I am glad I bought it as I occasionally use it.

I love mine - bit of a learning curve the first month but no going back. I've used it running and at the gym with no leaks, empty about every 4 hours during the day but it's fine overnight. Less painful periods, can't feel it when inserted properly. You prob need to trim the stem, and it's easier to insert if you run under hot water - bit softer and more flexible.

If your light I wouldn’t go for a mooncup, I would go for a smaller cup and one which is less scary than the mooncup!
