If you're on half-term next week, what are your plans?

I love hearing about other people's plans & maybe grabbing some inspiration, so here goes Smile

My plans, with DSes aged 10, 7 & turning 5 on Wednesday (and DH for some of it) & little money are:

Swimming in normal pool on Sunday with DS2 & 3 while DH & DS1 are at football (free with their lessons + me being carer for DS2, who has ASC)

Swimming in different pool with slide & waterfalls another day for DS3's birthday (his request)

Eat out on DS3's birthday (either Pizza Express/Prezzo with vouchers or Toby Carvery breakfast with kids eat for £1)

One day my parents are taking DS1 go-karting with his cousin as his late birthday present, so we'll all watch. Then I am working that afternoon (new job, love it, wish it paid more!)

Possibly seaside one day (take wellies & picnic to eat in car while looking out to sea)

Possibly country park of some sort on another day, with friends if DH is working that day. We have a few nice trails around here - Stick Man, Gruffalo, Wind in the Willows, Peter Rabbit, Zog.

I feel happy just thinking about it all Smile

Either nobody else is on half-term or you're all planning very quiet ones Grin

Your plans sound lovely! I'm on my own all week with dc8 and 7so I'm just hoping to survive Grin

ChoudeBruxelles · 15/02/2019 13:05

ds at friends monday.
Taking kitten to be neutered on Wednesday and Ds has a hair cut
Going to RAF Cosford with ds and his friend thursday
Taking ds and other friend to a trampoline place friday.

calilark · 15/02/2019 13:08

Sounds lovely! I only have 2 firm days planned, one is a trip with some of DDs pre-school friends to a local farm/activity type place, and another to Knighthayes NT to meet up with a friend.

Other than that, probably the cinema at some point, Toby breakfast now you have planted that seed in my head!, trip to Cornwall to see both sets of grandparents, nice walk & a bacon sandwich on the moors. Gorgeous sunny day today which is making me happy and look forward to the week, but obv it is raining next week Angry

Swimming

Fun fair

That's all I have planned so far.

lljkk · 15/02/2019 13:09

MN is a bit empty since data breach...

I am Starting a new job Regretting even applying for it but it was best decision I could make at the time, blarblarblar... DH will manage kids & doesn't plan in advance. Weather might be great, thank goodness.

Justtrying · 15/02/2019 13:11

Swimming, park, bike ride, trip to town with lunch in Jamie's Italian, kids eat free. Plus some craft stuff including making a Viking costume for school after the holidays.

flissfloss65 · 15/02/2019 13:12

My dc have their own plans now but I was always on the lookout for free events.

Have you checked if your council are running free workshops at your local museum or art gallery?

haba · 15/02/2019 13:19

Urgh-, mine's so boring!
Endless round of eye tests, dental check-ups, new shoes/trainers/uniforms for ever-growing children.
I feel all "Kevin The Teenager"-ish at the thought of it already!
Sad
I'm not even excited about being off work!

Crunchymum · 15/02/2019 13:29

Swimming lessons every morning (different classes for both DC but one after another). Dentist one day.

That's as far as I've got Grin

I'll take them trampolining one day, cinema another (see what the weather is like) and they are having a sleepover at their cousins next Friday.

We have lots of parks nearby and we'll do library one day too.

I'm back to work in a few weeks so want to make it a nice time for us all, but also cheap and relaxed.

ILiveInSalemsLot · 15/02/2019 13:31

I’m not sure yet. Apart from visiting family, we have no solid plans.
We will probably have one cinema trip and lots of walks outdoors.

ohtheholidays · 15/02/2019 13:37

I think one day we'll go trampolining, our DD11 has a play date for one of the days, another day we'll go to the cinema and out for lunch another day we'll use our National Trust places and visit somewhere we haven't been before and another day we might drive somewhere nice for the day apart from that I have no idea.

youngestisapsycho · 15/02/2019 13:45

I'll be working every day... DD16 wil be up and out at 7.30am every day to go rowing. She'll return by11.30 and likely go back to bed! DD13 will probably spend 24/7 on laptop playing Roblox, she might venture to a friends house to play it as well if she can be bothered to move!

redeyetonowheregood · 15/02/2019 13:59

only got two days off with mine, working on the other days.

We will either go to the local city and have a potter about or up to the coast. The other day we might go to the cinema in the morning but maybe just have a day at home, just the three of us. Not sure.

wendz86 · 15/02/2019 14:49

I'm only off mon and Friday. Monday not sure yet, might do swimming or a walk/park if weather good. Friday going to go into London to meet up with my parents, sister and niece. The other days the children will be with childminder and their dad.

confusedofengland · 15/02/2019 19:14

Sounds like some great plans Smile I was considering trampoline park, but between my 3 that's £30 Shock which is just too much for 1 hour!

lucysmam · 15/02/2019 19:36

We've been to town today for a wander (training day).

I'm working tomorrow, no idea what the girls are doing with their Dad.

Yorkshire Wildlife Park one day, a small homework project with dd2 and next term prep another day.

Other than that, no idea & I'm working but yet to find out which days so I can organise childcare Hmm

elephantoverthehill · 15/02/2019 19:45

Haba similar here, family dental appointment. I hope I will spend quite a bit of time at the allotment, Dd is 14 on Friday so I will have to go shopping and I've got GCSE coursework to mark. Hurray.

Mitsouko67 · 15/02/2019 20:24

Working earlier in the week, may take time off later in the week. DD is planning a trip to visit my family, DS1 is doing work experience and DS2 is on holidays. He has 3 music auditions over 2 days. We might have his cousin over and I hope to run a playdate ideally outdoors. There is a camp on later in the week. Camp is for 3 days but he will go maybe just for one day. Plans are a bit up in the air still.Trying to figure it out. A fair bit of juggling involved.

DelurkingAJ · 15/02/2019 20:28

Hiding at work. To be fair it’s our busiest time of year. DH is taking them to see DPIL and they’ll have a ball (and I shall see friends and sleep in the evenings). Bliss!

EatsFartsAndLeaves · 15/02/2019 20:42

I've got a 3 and a half year old we're going to plant things in the garden, see one of his friends from nursery and her mum, probably make cupcakes, build something out of cardboard boxes, get the bus to the big park with the train that only runs in school holidays, take his bike to the little park, and have our lunch in the pub.
