Posting for traffic. I take 200mg magnesium citrate but the pills from Holland and Barrett are ridiculously huge and hard to swallow. Any other recommendations? Thanks

I take Boots own brand magnesium and calcium capsules. They're 2 a day so not enormous.

Ihopeyourcakeisshit · 14/02/2019 14:23

Viridian they are 300 mg capsules, no problem to swallow.

danni0509 · 14/02/2019 14:25

Floradix magnesium liquid, it's £6.99 off amazon.

I heard that it is hard to absorb magnesium so I use the spray from H&B

Nat6999 · 14/02/2019 14:29

I buy mine from Morrison's, their own brand tablets 375mg, £3.75 for 45 tablets.

Biocare

Thatsalotofblood · 14/02/2019 14:36

Easier to get a spray/gel as it's easier to absorb that way as PP said. I have the gel from h&b, if you're deficient, it itches!

TheClitterati · 14/02/2019 15:45

Magnesium Citrizorb by Nutrigold - normal size gel caps

SapatSea · 14/02/2019 16:44

I used to get Floradix magnesium but it is expensive. I couldn't take the big horse pills most shops seem to sell. and I suffered gut issues with the magnesium as I need to take a highish dose. I've just started using Better You Magnesium gel , a lot easier and it bypasses the stomach..

BadAsMe · 14/02/2019 16:44

Magnesium is best absorbed through the skin so a bath in Epsom salts is really cheap and effective.

Gina2012 · 14/02/2019 16:45

Cytoplan

Fifteenthnamechange · 14/02/2019 19:27

What would you take magnesium for? I've seen people posting online but wasn't sure what benefits it's brings

EvaHarknessRose · 14/02/2019 19:41

I use spray

Whatdoyouknowwhenyouknownowt · 14/02/2019 19:45

The compound matters, so the citrate & bis-glycinate are absorbed better than the oxide.

ElisavetaofBelsornia · 14/02/2019 19:53

Biocare magnesium malate which was recommended by my nutritionist as easy to absorb.

I take it to relieve endometriosis symptoms and it helps with relaxation/sleep when taken in the evening.

TheClitterati · 14/02/2019 20:15

It helps you absorb and utilise calcium too

ignatiusjreilly · 14/02/2019 21:37

Boots here too. They're small, easy to swallow and cheap.

SapatSea · 15/02/2019 08:12

Uses: Migraine, restless legs, muscle cramping, sleep, muscle function, stress (helps you to relax), menstruation symptoms etc

Wolfcub · 15/02/2019 08:13

Innopure but they are massive so avoid if you have trouble swallowing horse pills

Dowser · 15/02/2019 08:40

Concentrace liquid. It’s got all the trace minerals from the salt lake in Utah
It’s made a big difference to me since October when I started it.
I probably could do with a bit more magnesium to be honest but as it can act like a laxative it’s all about getting the balance right
I have Epsom salt baths and as you can make the oil from Epsom salts I won’t be paying for £12 oil in future.
