not going to give a heap of information as posts can’t be deleted.
my current situation is i’m living in europe persuing sport at international level - which i have achieved. i have now been here for 1.5 years but i don’t enjoy the weather/lifestyle here. i feel like i’m walking on egg shells around my club coach and at international level have been pushed to the outer for younger players. short version, i’m not enjoying myself. but i still love my sport.
do i stick it out or go home and move on with life?

I think it is difficult for others to say as you are in such a niche position.

Most people playing sport at an international level and been training towards that, to the exclusion of most other aspects of their lives, since childhood, and, for most sports, there is a fairly small window when you can perform at the top level. It's not like other jobs where you can come back to it in 10 years if you decide you want to.

Of course, if you feel you have achieved all you set out to do, then that makes the decision easier.
Is there a way of changing coaches, or moving to another club ?
Is there a way of making the 'life' you have easier ? (I don't know, but maybe moving your friend or sister out to the country to live with you or something ?)

Generally in life, I tend to say you spend too much time at work to be doing something you don't enjoy, but I think the journey you've had to get there and the limited time you have at the top, make this a slightly different decision.

thanks BackforGood.

unfortunately there is no way to fly family out as i am half way across the world. reason of moving as i was told i would never play for country A but parent was born in country B, so made the decision to play at highest level possible rather than quit then.

re training situation there are only four decent clubs in the league and in my area two, which i am already at one and the other is filled.

i do feel sometimes like it’s a chore and it isn’t enjoyable. i don’t think i’ve achieved all i want but at the same time there is doubt for reasons i can’t control that are limiting me
