What are you getting your husbands/partners for valentines?

Are any of you actually buying presents? Why things have you got?

DH has implied he has got me something and I just got him a card so now I'm thinking I need to get something today, but what?!

Can I steal your ideas?!

We gave up presents and going out on Valentine's Day years ago. We're not even doing cards this year! We will have an Indian or Chinese takeaway at home with a bottle of fizz that we've got in the fridge ready.

PhilomenaButterfly · 13/02/2019 14:05

Godiva chocolates.

IWouldPreferNotTo · 13/02/2019 14:06

Full body massage, facial and hand massage at the salon up the road. I'm not usually that extravagant but it's also a post baby treat.

No gift but weekend away in spa hotel, so a couple of nice meals out and NT visit.

Meet0nTheledge · 13/02/2019 14:07

Chocolates here, we don't do presents as such.

MirandaWest · 13/02/2019 14:07

A card. Must remember to go and buy it BlushGrin

BillywigSting · 13/02/2019 14:08

Absolutely nothing whatsoever. He's getting nothing for me too. It's very liberating.

We're also pretty skint as we've just bought a house and it's needs a complete gutting/replaster /rewire etc.

BlueMerchant · 13/02/2019 14:08

Few bottles of craft ale and chocolates.

LoubyLou1234 · 13/02/2019 14:10

Bits of his favourite things, car mag, couple of bottles of beer, munchies, also a terminator 2 Lego figure to go with his other movie Lego figures. Nothing expensive: local meal out tomorrow.

Mmmmdanone · 13/02/2019 14:11

I hate it- but have bought dh a card and chocs incase he remembers and I feel bad!

Okki · 13/02/2019 14:11

I might remember to give him a good morning kiss.

However as this post has made me realise it's tomorrow, that's def all he's getting. I could make the effort to get up first and make him a coffee I suppose.

I think valentines is a load of commercial bollocks and I don't need a special day to tell him I love him or do something nice. He knows this and will still get me something if he feels like it. So I guess what I'm saying is get your DH something if you want to, not because he's got something for you.

I've got him an extremely fluffy blanket for the sofa so he stops stealing mine. I have also got him a card, as I was near the card shop.

He bought me a big hoody on his way back from a trip recently and declared it to be my Valentine's present. I'm just about to message him to find out if flowers will be forthcoming tomorrow as I'm going to the shop and I'll buy some for the vases otherwise. Oh, and we take it in turns to cook for each other each year. All very low key - were not fussed but it's nice to have a 'thing'.

My husband loves Game of Thrones and has a new found love of red wine so I got him an engraved wine glass from Amazon with a GoT quote on that says "I am the God of Tits and Wine" Grin Made me, and him, chuckle and was only a tenner x

Moominfan · 13/02/2019 14:33

toomuchtoolittle · 13/02/2019 14:48
