Anyone had a sebaceous cyst removed?

Just back from the doctors as I have a lump on my shoulder that's recently got a bit bigger and is feeling sore/tender.
The doctor said it's a sebaceous cyst and that I can either leave it or have it removed in a simple procedure at the surgery.

I know removal will leave a scar and I'm really not bothered by that. I'm leaning towards having it removed but just thought I'd ask on here to see if anyone has had a similar experience.

Any advice? If you've had one removed, would you recommend it?

My husband had a cyst on his leg that kept growing, 3 doctors over 2 years diagnosed it as a harmless cyst and to ignore it. He went back and insisted on its removal as it grew to the size of a walnut.

Turned out to be a leiomyosarcoma, a few surgeries later and a course of radiotherapy, he has a rather impressive scar and 3 monthly full body scans to check for further recurrence.

It’s rare, but it happens. Please get it removed
